Quickstart.
Sign in, install StateSync, open a folder. About 5 minutes, and there is nothing to configure.

Sign in and download
Pick your platform and run the installer. Downloading needs no account; the app asks you to sign in when it first opens. If your platform's build is not available yet, contact us and we will try to prioritise it.Downloads could not be loaded just now. Try again in a moment.

Sign in on the desktop
Open StateSync and press Log in. Your browser opens to confirm it. Check the codes match and approve. That device stays signed in while you use it, and asks you to sign in again after 30 days without use.- 1Open StateSyncA new install opens on a sign-in screen.
- 2Press Log inStateSync shows a code and opens your browser to a page with the same code. Check that the two match.
- 3Approve itPress Approve in the browser. The app sets up this computer.
- 4Start workingStateSync opens on your project. This computer stays signed in while you use it, and asks you to sign in again after 30 days without use.

Open a project and pick an agent
Open a project folder, start a chat and pick an agent. Agents already on your computer are found for you. To add one, open Settings and choose Providers & agents.- 1Open SettingsClick Settings at the bottom of the sidebar, or press Ctrl+, (Cmd+, on a Mac).
- 2Choose Providers & agentsSettings opens on General. Choose Providers & agents in the list on the left. Agents you can use come first, then the ones that need a sign-in, then the ones that are not installed.
- 3Pick an agentClick one under Not installed. Here it is OpenCode.
- 4Press InstallStateSync installs it and shows what it is doing. There is no terminal to open.
- 5Sign inWhen it says Installed successfully, the agent moves to Needs signing in. Claude Code, Codex and Cursor CLI sign in through your browser.
- 6Or paste a keyOpenCode also takes an API key. Open API keys and paste one in. Leave a field empty to skip it.

Open a terminal
Run your tests, or an agent's own command line, in a terminal beside the chat. A project has to be open first, because a terminal starts in the project folder.- 1Open a panePress the pane button at the top right of the chat. Ctrl+J (Cmd+J on a Mac) opens a pane along the bottom instead.
- 2Choose TerminalA pane with no tabs offers Files, Browser, Review and Terminal. Choose Terminal.
- 3Start an agentClick into the terminal. The shell starts in your project folder, so type claude and press Enter to open Claude Code there.
- 4Add anotherPress + on the tab strip and choose Terminal. Drag its tab onto the first terminal to split them.

Turn on voice (optional)
Dictate into StateSync or any other app. The speech model runs on your computer and nothing you say leaves it. Nothing records until a model is downloaded, so start there.- 1Open SettingsClick Settings at the bottom of the sidebar, or press Ctrl+, (Cmd+, on a Mac).
- 2Choose StateVoiceSettings opens on General. Choose StateVoice in the list on the left, under StateSync.
- 3Press Download a modelWith no speech model on this computer, StateVoice is off and the first row says so. The link takes you to the default model and marks it.
- 4Press DownloadThe default is Accurate, English, 904 MB, and it runs on this computer. The bar shows the time left and carries on if you leave the page. It is sped up here.
- 5Set a keyPress Set a key, then hold a modifier (Ctrl, Alt or Shift, and Command on a Mac) and press another key. Here it is Ctrl+Alt.
- 6Test the microphonePress Test and speak: the bar moves with your voice. Then, in any app, press the key, speak, and press it again, and the text lands where your cursor is. To hold the key while you talk instead, turn on Hold to talk.

Watch the savings
Open Settings and choose Account to see what you are saving as you work.- 1Open SettingsClick Settings at the bottom of the sidebar, or press Ctrl+, (Cmd+, on a Mac).
- 2Choose AccountSettings opens on General. Choose Account in the list on the left.
- 3Read the totalsUsage on this device shows tokens used, tokens saved, and how many fewer tokens that is. Saved is an estimate. Access shows how much of this week's allowance you have used.
- 4See it by dayThe chart shows each day's tokens used and saved. The buttons at the top right change the range.
