DocsWorking in StateSync
Agents
Which coding agents StateSync runs, how it finds the ones you already have, and how your own subscriptions and keys are used.
StateSync runs coding agents rather than replacing them, and has no model of its own. Every request goes to the provider you already have an account with, on that account.
Which agents
- Claude Code
- Codex
- OpenCode
- Cursor CLI
- Copilot
- Pi
- Auggie
- Factory Droid
- Grok
Every agent listed can be launched and driven from the app. The agents StateSync knows best also show usage, model choice and mid-task switching.
Installing and signing in
Open Settings, then Providers & agents. Every agent is listed under where it stands: Ready to use, Needs signing in, or Not installed.
- Install and Update run the agent's own installer and show its progress as it goes.
- Sign in opens the agent's own login, in your browser or in a terminal, depending on the agent.
- Installed or signed in outside StateSync? Press Re-check and the row catches up.
Your provider's limits
For agents whose provider publishes it, the agent's row shows how much of your provider's limit is left, with a Check again button. These are your provider's limits, not StateSync's: StateSync usage is on your account page.
Subscriptions and keys
- A subscription agent signs in the way it always did, in its own flow, on its own account.
- An agent that runs on an API key, such as Pi or OpenCode, takes the key under API keys in its row.
- Keys go into your operating system's secure store (the Windows credential store, the macOS Keychain, or the Linux Secret Service), or into the agent's own config file where that is what the agent reads.
- StateSync has no key proxy. No StateSync server sits between your machine and your provider.
The security page says where each agent's key lands, agent by agent.
MCP servers
Settings, then MCP servers, lists the MCP servers each agent already has in its own config, with their status and the tools they offer. Add your own with a name and a launch command. A server can be switched off without deleting it.
