Reviewing changes

Read every file an agent touched, revert a change, and commit, without leaving the window.

The review pane on the right lists every file the agent changed, with the diff for each one. Reading the work is the default, not something you go elsewhere to do.

Choosing what to review

The picker at the top of the pane sets what the diff is measured against.

  • The latest turn: only what the agent changed in its last reply.
  • An earlier turn, to see how the work got to where it is.
  • Everything uncommitted, the way git sees the working tree.
  • Another branch, opened from Settings, then Source control, with Compare with what you have now.

A folder that is not a git repository still gets a review pane. The pane shows Tracking changes, and StateSync keeps its own snapshot at every turn so the diff still has something to compare with.

Reading a change

  • The file tree shows the changed files in their folders, with lines added and removed. Hide it when you want the diff to have the width.
  • A file created by the agent shows as added, with the whole file as the diff. A deleted file stays in the list, marked as removed.
  • Mark a file read to fold it away. The counter at the top says how many are left.
  • A file the agent read but did not change does not appear at all.

Reverting a file

Revert puts one file back as it was at the point you are reviewing against, after asking you to confirm. The other files stay as they are, and the conversation carries on: tell the agent what was wrong and let it try again.

Revert writes to the file on disk, the same as undoing the change by hand. A file that is already staged stays staged.

Committing and pushing

The bar at the foot of the pane commits without leaving the app. Write the message, choose whether to stage everything, and press Commit.

  • Commit and push, and Push on its own, both ask before anything leaves your machine.
  • The bar shows how many commits your branch is ahead of or behind its remote.

Branches

Settings, then Source control, has a card for each open project: its remote, and its branches grouped by name. From any branch you can compare it with what you have now, copy its name, or check it out. Checking out asks first. A folder with no repository gets an Initialize repository button instead.
